Waste To Compost

Processing of the organic fraction of MSW through windrow is one of the common and proven methods in dealing with large volumes of waste. Thisparticular process of dealing with solid waste through composting, converts it to a humus-containing organic material, advantageous for agriculture / horticulture use. It is accomplished under aerobic conditions developing temperatures of 55 degrees C or above.

Windrow composting is a simple, widely recognized and approved composting process for centralized waste processing system with comparison to other mechanical process.

The raw material is piled up in heaps or elongated heaps (called windrows). The size of the heaps ensures sufficient heat generation. The addition of bulky materials, passive or active ventilation or regular turning, further ensures aeration. Systems with active aeration, through the use of blowers, are usually referred to as forced aeration systems. When heaps are seldom turned, they are referred to as static piles. Leachate control is provided by a sloped and sealed or impervious composting pad (the surface where the heaps are located) with a surrounding drainage system.

The major advantages of the composting process are:

  • the stabilization of the different kinds of waste and its large quantities
  • to substantially reduced C/N ratio and gas formation
  • the virtual elimination of odors and pathogens.

We have manufactured 1.03 Lac MT Compost from Daily Collected Wet Municipal Solid Waste and are continuously giving supply through Krishak Bharti Cooperative Ltd.

We are also developing Sanitary Landfill Site at Waste Processing Site, Kuberpur, Agra.
